THE LIMINAL: 7 DAY OFFLINE SALON FOR PEOPLE BETWEEN LIFE STAGES
Before a new life chapter, career or creative venture unfolds, there is almost always a period when what came before no longer fits, but what comes next has yet to be revealed.
Just as a doorway between two rooms, or an airport between departure and arrival… We tend to rush through these periods because uncertainty can be uncomfortable.
By removing digital distractions, schedules, expectations and the pressure to perform, I would like to offer you a space full of connection with the analog world around. A week is long enough to notice what happens when the noise subsides.
If you are looking to be spiritually curated of continuously entertained, there are many other retreats that are better designed for you. If you are ready to disconnect from the internet, connect with like-minded people instead, and make room for the unknown, welcome to THE LIMINAL.
🛀 FORMAT 6 nights / 7 days Maximum 5 curated participants A temporary departure from the digital feedback loop into 20 hectares of olive trees, open landscape and silence.
WHO IS IT FOR? This intimate offline salon is for people between exits, roles, projects and life stages: Entrepreneurs, artists, curators, researchers, builders, parents and anyone who would like to experience a week free from digital distractions, networking, or the urge to control their time.
📆 DATES Nov 22 2026 – Nov 28, 2026 Dec 27 2026 – Jan 02, 2027 Jan 17 2027 – Jan 23, 2027
🌳 LOCATION Our base is a 20-hectare olive estate 5 km from Elvas, in the borderlands of Portugal and Spain—a region that somehow escaped the machinery of mass tourism despite having extraordinary things to discover. This is not the Portugal of crowded beaches and pastel-de-nata queues. The eastern Alentejo is quieter: whitewashed fortress towns, abandoned landscapes, marble quarries, vineyards and olive groves, ceramics, tapestries, prehistoric stones and village fairs.
💶 PRICE From €2,100 per person Included: Private en-suite accommodation, all meals, regional wine and beer, sauna & pool, activities & excursions, analog materials, pickup from Elvas train or bus station, and a one-hour private conversation with the host. Private airport transfers from Lisbon or Badajoz can be arranged at additional cost.
🤳 DIGITAL DISCONNECT Upon arrival, phones and other connected devices are left in a safe. For emergencies, family or business contacts can reach you through the host at all times. In place of your phone, tablet or computer you will receive a journal, analogue cameras, binoculars, books, conversations, fireside chats, endless landscapes, 4 companions to connect with—and time.
⏰ RELINQUISH THE NEED TO MANAGE TIME There will be things we do together—cooking, collecting wood, making a fire, exploring the farm, taking a day trip and, depending on the season, perhaps picking olives—but you won't receive a timetable in advance. When the timeline disappears, so does much of the burden of choice and anticipation.
🦄 NO PRESCRIBED WELLNESS. NO SPIRITUAL PERFORMANCE. If you have your own yoga-, meditation- or breathing practice, bring it with you. Otherwise, nothing needs to be performed in a group. There is no mandatory silence, no mandatory yoga, shared meditation, psychedelics or performative spirituality.
🪂 SPACES & ACTIVITIES Some days will contain discoveries. Others may contain almost nothing. Both are the point. On the Farm: Depending on the season activities will differ. You may enjoy fireside chats, read a book under the arcades or pergola, spend time by the pool or sauna, walk among ancient olive trees with sweeping views across Portugal and Spain, or discover how olive oil is produced—a lesson in how time yields substance.
Outside the Farm: On selected days, we will explore nearby historic towns, their cultural heritage and some less obvious places. We might stumble into a village festa, visit a unique museum you would never have searched for, watch someone throw clay in a pottery workshop, or taste wine where it is made.

ABOUT ME
I’m Shermin Voshmgir and have spent much of my own life between cultures, countries, disciplines and careers—from art to cryptoeconomic algorithms to the literal, overgrown thickets of the abandoned olive farm where THE LIMINAL is hosted.
Born in Austria with Iranian roots, I now live in Portugal and work at the intersection of technology, agriculture, art and social science. Over time, I have learned that uncertainty is often better embraced than fought: it is a necessary condition for creation and change.
During THE LIMINAL, I will sometimes be present and sometimes deliberately in the background. We will share meals, conversations, activities and the landscape, and every participant will have a private one-hour conversation with me.
I see my role primarily as holding the space—not telling you what to do or what should emerge from it.
